I guess it's time for another mass update post. We really apologize once again for the lack of communication. As we know Evie and Alex have just been enjoying a mostly peaceful life as newlyweds and as parents of a rapidly growing baby who takes center stage in their lives. Their delightful narrator has been too busy to keep up with them anyway. Apparently summer is busy season in home improvement (who knew! LOL, JK. Of course nobody wants to renovate or anything in the Canadian winter) but Fall is pretty much here so we (I) should be around more now. But for now, let's check in on how they've been doing the last few months.
We left the newlyweds in Champs Les Sims, France. Though they were about to leave for Al Simhara, Egypt after extending their honeymoon (which was more of a family vacation as they took the baby with them). Well, they had a blast in Egypt, though because of unsatisfactory accommodations (there was nowhere for Lucas and there was definitely nowhere to leave him while the explored) and even more dangerous tombs than they encountered in France (so they couldn't take him with them), they sent Lucas home to stay with his Auntie Mae for a bit (he survived, don't worry!), having her meet them at the airport in France before they left. They also made it a shorter trip than they would have liked so they could get home to their baby faster. Which meant the dropped their quests that meant returning to France to check in, and just explored on their own.
We apologize once again for the delay in updates. Evie and Alex have just been enjoying a quiet life as newlyweds. Or as quiet as life is when you have a baby (even if he is a really quiet baby). And their illustrious narrator has just been very busy. Though we hope to return you to your regularily scheduled programming soon. For now we just wanted to share some of Evie and Alex's "honeymoon" pictures. Really it was more of a family vacation because there was no way they were leaving Lucas for so long. So they settled for leaving him with grandma and grandpa Ellison for a couple nights after the wedding so they could enjoy a bit of time alone at home.
And then it was off to Paris, where they spent the first few days of their vacation just relaxing and taking in the sights. It was a short trip there, so they didn't do as much as they would have liked, but they still had an amazing time. But I guess it's always an amazing time when you're newlyweds in one of the world's most romantic cities.
So, pretend it's still NYE, because why does NYE even have to end in the first place? Best day of the year, and of course, this year was a very special one. MY BABIES GOT MARRIED! ♥
Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Ellison-Warren!!!
Now, Imma just drop the pictures and just... *grabs tissues* I'll just be here crying if anybody needs me.
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Even the baby was sleeping peacefully in his crib, all the visitors had left the family in peace, and mom and dad had passed out on the couch. I'm sure you can imagine that the last few months in the Ellison-Warren household have been more than a little crazy with the new baby and the endless stream of visitors wanting to see the baby. And things in the family's narrator's life have been a little crazy too (I think we've covered some of that already). So we apologize for being away so long, but let's get caught up!
So my main laptop is on the brink of death like everytime I turn it on I feel like it'll be the last. Typing especially is the worst on it like I just can't and I'm over USB keyboards... I'm on my 2nd in a month and its being a pain in the ass too. But it has loads of other issues too.
So I'm just putting all my TS3 stories on hold until... whenever I can afford a new computer (I keep hoping soon but it could be a few months I really don't know. If my hours at work keep up hopefully soon. If they drop to where they're supposed to be lol good luck me. Save myself (and my laptop) some stress.
Now, that being said. I have a spare laptop that's not up to TS3 anymore.... but I think I can get it to run TS4 enough to tolerate, should this one totally die (but TS4 is also less hard on this one and less likely to be what sets it over the edge). So, I'll see what I can do about getting a TS4 legacy or something going. So stay tuned.
Also screw you weebly app for eating half this post when I posted from my phone earlier >.<. Anyway, hopefully I'll be back fully soon, happy simming until then.
Evie was down for a mid-morning nap, a common occurrence for her as she got closer to the end of her pregnancy. She was 39 weeks along and it was exhausting but it was also difficult to sleep long, she couldn't get comfortable or would have to get up to use the bathroom often. Like normal her nap was a short one before she was woken, only it was a pain in her stomach which while those weren't uncommon either it was stronger than normal and she that she wouldn't be able too just change positions and make it go away so she could go back to sleep. Little Lucas was just about ready to enter the world.
The good thing about Mae crashing with Evie for a bit, even though a couple weeks had turned into 6 and counting, was that Evie was a bit less lonely while Alex was away at school. Though Mae wasn't there a lot either, she'd found a new job and a new girlfriend so she was usually occupied with one of them, but she still made some time for Evie too, mostly so they could shop for baby stuff which was piling up in the nursery waiting for Alex to come home so he and Evie could set it up together. And when Evie came down with a brutal cold that left her confined to bed, or to the sofa at least, Mae was there to help look after her.
It had been a couple weeks that Mae had been missing for. She still hadn't called anybody. Evie had gone to check in with Mae's work however, and learned that she'd shown up since leaving home but that she'd been fired. Which had been cause for concern, Mae loved her job and it was concerning that she'd gotten herself fired and even more concerning to think about how she was taking it. Though, a couple days later Evie hadn't learned from a friend of Mae's that she'd planned to take what would have been her honeymoon as a vacation. So it helped to know she was probably just relaxing on a beach somewhere, trying to take a break from all the stress. So Evie eased up on the phone calls, only trying to check in every couple days. She still wanted to hear directly from Mae that she was okay but tried to respect her apparent desire for space.
Clearly though, Mae was back from her vacation as she'd shown up on Evie's doorstep. Evie nearly knocked her over in a hug when she opened the door to see her standing there. "I'm so glad you're here."
Evie had tried calling Mae several times throughout the day but unsurprisingly never got an answer. She hadn't left any messages but she was making her last call of the day so she waited for the beep and left a message. "Look Mae, I know you're still mad at me, though I still don't understand why. I didn't do anything, I didn't do anything to make Julianne feel the way she does and I don't return the feelings. I mean, I have Alex and I'm happy, why would be after anyone else? I wouldn't do that to you anyway. Okay, anyway, back on topic I'm really worried about you and mom and dad are worried. So please just call me back and let me know if you're okay, you don't have to really talk to me or anything. You can just say "hey, I'm okay...leave me alone now" and hang up. I don't care, just call me or mom or somebody. Please?"
Evie and Mae hadn’t talked in 2 weeks. Mae had left as soon she woke up the next day after Evie had brought her home from the club, despite Evie’s pleading to talk she walked out without a word. Evie had tried calling a few times too but Mae never answered or returned her calls. She’d even tried to get her mom to help who promised she’d try but said Evie would probably just have to be patient, Mae would come around eventually, “You know how her moods are. She’ll get over it.”
But with 2 weeks having passed it had come to an important day for Evie, so she put her sister out of her mind to focus on more important, and happier , matters. She was about to find out the gender of her baby. She couldn’t be more excited, saying "he" or "she" sounded a lot nicer than “it”. Plus she was going to go shopping with Alex for baby stuff after, assuming the appointment went how they wanted.
It was agonizing waiting as the ultrasound technician tried to identify the gender, it seemed to be taking forever. Alex squeezed Evie’s hand and they waited as patiently as they could
