Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Even the baby was sleeping peacefully in his crib, all the visitors had left the family in peace, and mom and dad had passed out on the couch. I'm sure you can imagine that the last few months in the Ellison-Warren household have been more than a little crazy with the new baby and the endless stream of visitors wanting to see the baby. And things in the family's narrator's life have been a little crazy too (I think we've covered some of that already). So we apologize for being away so long, but let's get caught up!
I'm sure you're all wondering most about little Lucas. So why don't we start there? Actually, perhaps I should leave that until the end, so you'll actually read this whole boring thing. Just kidding... Evie would kill me if I don't brag about her baby, girl is one proud mama (dad is pretty darn proud, too). And frankly, I'm kind of scared of her (she seems so nice and innocent... but those are the ones you've gotta watch out for). Anyway, can you believe Lucas is 5 months old already?! Time flies! It seems like last we saw him he was like, 5 minutes old. Oh wait, he was, my bad! Sorry! Soon he'll be crawling and getting into all kinds of trouble. He's really a very calm baby, always snuggled up in mom or dad's arms happy as can be, but I just know his sense of adventure will kick in once he's mobile and poor mom and dad will be chasing after him all the time. But really there's not much to say, other than to ramble on about how adorable he is. But what good is *saying* it, when I can show you?
And on the subject of babies, you may remember that in kind of an awkward twist of fate, Evie's mom was also pregnant last we saw. Well, she had the baby about 2 months ago, a boy named Oliver. Finally, some boys in the family! Gosh, and he's just adorable, too. At least Lucas will have somebody his own age to play with, I guess? N'aww I love you Alaina and Keenan, but really, get it together... just leave it to your kids to have it kids now. Shouldn't you guys be at that point in life, where you just bug your kids for grandchildren? Because babies are awesome, but you don't want any more of your own?
But enough about babies, what's superstar Evie up to? Of course, her main focus right now is just being a mom. But after taking a long break through much of her pregnancy and the first few months after having Lucas, Evie is starting to give her music career some attention, too. It's a very slow process since she's so busy at home, but she's currently working on her next album. It will feature her old friend Julianne as well, as the two try to mend their friendship. Doing so with music, their biggest mutual interest, seemed like the best way. And either way, they sound amazing together. Evie's brother Nolan will also be lending his talents to the album and will be featured on instrumentals. Man, this album is going to be amazing!
And Alex, if you remember he'd had to rush home and ditch a tryout for the Moonlight Falls hockey team because Evie had gone into labour. Well, he rescheduled his tryout, but he didn't quite make the cut this year. He's not too bummed though, he's been strongly encouraged to tryout again next year after he's had another year to practice, and he's just enjoying being able to spend more time with his son and his fiancee.
And, if you can believe it, Evie and Alex celebrated their 1 year anniversary in August. Crazy, right? In some ways it's hard to believe it's already been a year and in some ways it's hard to belive it's only been a year. It's sure been an eventful year. The couple celebrated with a (late) trip to France and had a great time checking out the sights and exploring tombs together, enjoying romantic candlelit picnics. It was just the best trip ever, though it was too short as Lucas was at home and they didn't want to be away from him for more than a few days.
So they're going back, and spending a bit more time, for their honeymoon. Which brings us the surprise! I'm sure that probably gave it away, but in case... well... I'll let the card take it from here.
Well, I guess that's all for now. We'll see you next week!!!
Merry Christmas from me and my family to you and yours!
